Ragu is a classic Italian pasta sauce known for its rich, savory, and hearty flavors. Here’s a basic recipe for making a delicious Ragu sauce:

Ingredients:

1 pound (450g) ground beef or a combination of beef and pork
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup red wine (optional)
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for some heat)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup beef or vegetable broth (optional, for extra richness)
