Morally we have no responsibility, no obligation and no need to give assistance to an enemy country. Chazal said that one who has mercy on the cruel will end up being cruel to the merciful. Whoever thinks that morally we need to extend assistance to a state that is, at the end of the day, an enemy state..we have no moral responsibility to do this. Anyone who talks in the name of moral values and wants to help, in my eyes this is crooked and hypocritical morals.
-- Mk Betzalel Smotrich (Yamina)
What do you think? should humanitarian aid in a time of crisis not be extended to an enemy country like Lebanon, unless it is deemed to be a state interest as the aid might turn them into a friend or lessen their hatred for us?
