Quote of the Day

By Gldmeier @gldmeier
I don't know him, I didn't hear about this. Who told you that that he asked his rabbis before he did this?
-- Minister of Health Yaakov Litzman, responding to a question (on radio) if he called Yehuda Sabiner, the Gerrer hassid who decided to become a doctor and went to medical school, to bless him and wish him well.
This is so patronizing. Whether he asked his rebbe or not before making such a decision is his business, not mine, not yours and not Rabbi Yaakov Litzman's. I do not need to know the answer to that question before wishing him success. Heck, I don't even need to think about the question, let alone ask it. Litzman could have, should have, just said no, I don't know him, and left it at that. Or, as Health Minister, he could have called an aspiring doctor he has some sort of connection to and wished him well.
