Following shows with The Orielles, Hinds and The Big Moon, Quiet as a Mouse have unveiled the video for ‘Modern Belle’ – a song that will feature on their forthcoming part-Creative Scotland-funded album ‘Is it Funny When it Hurts?’ (out on 27 April).
Produced by Marcus Mackay (who’s worked with Frightened Rabbit and Snow Patrol), it’s a soft love song with touching and heartfelt lyrics wrapped inside melodies Orange Juice or Admiral Fallow would be proud to call their own: ‘Ink in my pen flows from the olive in your eye’; ‘It would only take one mistake, it was the best one I ever did make’.
