Olympic gold medalist, Gabby Douglas told a room of about 300 people at a luncheon  to “Always believe in yourself.”

“Always believe in yourself,” the Olympic gold medalist said. “Go out there and fight. Nothing in life is going to be handed to you. Always follow through.”

Gabby Douglas also shared her story of how she fell in love with gymnastics at the luncheon.

“I just fell in love with gymnastics when I stepped foot in my very first rec class at the gym,” she said at the luncheon. “I just loved it. I loved challenging myself.”

When asked  her advice for kids,  Gabby said to have fun!

“Enjoy what you do. Love what you do,” she said. “Don’t let other, negative people determine your talent. That’s your talent, so go out there and have fun and shine bright.”
