Que Sera, Sera

Posted on the 07 November 2016 by Krickeyb

Some days are tougher than others. Today is one of those days for me.

There are times when I look down at my leg (which is currently wrapped in a large splint and SUPER ITCHY), and I think to myself, “What’s next? Will I get through this? Will there be any other surgeries?” It can easily transform your mood from amazing to terrible in a matter of seconds.

Aside from my leg and the stresses that accompany this journey in my life, I am not working. Sure, not working has its perks (binge watching Netflix being one), but I miss the feeling of accomplishment one would get in the workplace. I miss the competitive atmosphere and the ability to problem solve on a day-to-day basis. What can I say? I enjoy working. There’s a reason why I chose to get a degree in a major I loved.

It’s hard not to wonder what the future holds. “Will I get back at it? Will things go as planned?” It’s days like today where I turn to Doris Day and remind myself, “Que Sera, Sera.”

For any of you out there wondering/worrying:

“Will I be rich?”

“Will I survive?”

“Will I accomplish all I set my mind to?”

“Will I graduate on time?”

“Will I get that promotion?”

“Will I get married?”

And so on… remember this: What will be, will be. We cannot waste precious moments in our life worrying and stressing about the future. It isn’t healthy and it won’t do us any good at all.

This Monday, I urge you to listen to some Doris Day. Shit happens. Life doesn’t go as planned. We live and we learn. What will be…will be.

xoxo,

Kristin

Completely unwarranted life lesson from a married woman #35: Doris Day says it best in her song… Whatever will be, will be. The future is not ours to see. Que Sera, Sera.
