Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G 5G chipset is in the works and is going to reveal later today as per some reports. The new processor will have an improved CPU, GPU, ISP, AI Engine, and more. A well known German publication Winfuture.de gets a sneak peek of the press release as well as some additional details.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G 5G is going to be based on a 5nm fabrication process just like the Snapdragon 888 chipset. It will an octa-core processor having two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz along with six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz.
The next big update is the GPU, like Adreno 660 on Snapdragon 888 the Adreno 642 on Snapdragon 780G will also have updateable GPU drivers and the new GPU also brings True 10-bit HDR gaming, and immersive and smooth gaming experience.
The Snapdragon 780G 5G chipset will also be bundled with the new Spectra 570 ISP that may bring triple camera shooting simultaneously which means you can capture using your main, ultrawide, and telephoto lens simultaneously. Qualcomm’s press release also reveals that the chipset has a, “new low-light architecture powering professional quality photos in any lighting condition”.
The SD 780G will also come with an all-new 6th AI engine, the Hexagon 770, which features up to 12 TOPs AI performance, which is twice that of its predecessor. The chipset will come integrated with the Snapdragon X53 5G modem-RF System that can provide download speeds of up to 3.3Gbps on sub-6GHz frequencies.
The processor also sports Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 and offers multi-gigabit Wi-Fi 6 speeds up to 3.6Gbps. As per the winfuture reports, the upcoming chipset will first debut on Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G that is rumored to debut in second quarter of 2021.
