Purple Elephants & Rainbows… You Know, the Usual.
I have been a huge fan of street art for some time and San Diego has a lot of it. I remember as a child going on road trips all over Cali, photographing the art and graffiti and trying to duplicate it at home. {Seriously, like way back when I was 8 years old!!!} Which would explain my love of art at such a young age… well that, and my grandmother who was a painter. Who woulda thought I would major in Art… {yes it was for self gratification, fully aware of the term “starving artists”, ha ha.} I can only hope my daughter can learn to appreciate it when she is older, she obviously loved this purple elephant… but it’s a purple elephant… come on now.
We came across it on our way to the Crest Cafe in Hillcrest {seriously one of the best breakfast places here.. that and Hash House}, and I had the pleasure of meeting the artist Cody Griffith and seeing him hard at work.
