PUNX is a collaboration between Grammy-nominated vocalist Steve Aoki and internationally renowned chart-topper 3LAU. They are the first DJs in the world to be linked with CryptoPunks NFT characters. Under the supervision of two of the most successful web3 entrepreneurs in the music industry, Aoki and 3LAU have created a ground-breaking audio-visual IRL-meets-metaverse ensemble. Aoki and 3LAU are collaborating for the first time as a duo to expand upon the sonic synergy they established on their most recent audio/visual NFT project, “Jenny.”

PUNX is positioned at the intersection of music and web3 using the combined talents of Aoki and 3LAU. Last year, after hitting new NFT sales records with his Ultraviolet series, 3LAU launched Royal, a web3 firm he co-founded that enables fans to co-own music with their favorite artists. Aoki presented both Dominion X, the first episodic series to premiere on the blockchain, and his record-breaking Dream Catcher NFT collection at the same time. The two are now well-known names in the business, growing music, and digital communities through immersive projects and engaging narratives. The conception of Aoki and 3LAU’s new PUNX IP was inspired by their shared passion for blog house and electro music as well as the pixelated cyberpunk universe of CryptoPunks. The supergroup will tour and release new songs in 2023.

Music producer, musician, fashion designer, entrepreneur, and NFT inventor Steve Aoki has gotten two Grammy nominations and has collected over 4 billion streams and a 77 million average monthly reach across all of his platforms. Billboard calls the Dim Mak Records founder and DJ/Producer “one of the most in-demand talents in the world.” Over $4 million was made from Aoki’s first NFT, the Dream Catcher collection, which he led a team to create. He is an active collector and self-described “an unabashed futurist” (Fortune). Along with his work with Sotheby’s on their Contemporary Curated series and his recent collaboration with comic book legend Todd McFarlane on creating OddKey, an NFT marketplace on the Solana blockchain where comic artists can freely showcase and sell their original digital artwork, he also co-created the first blockchain-based episodic series with Dominion X. Recently, Aoki introduced the A0K1VERSE, an NFT membership community powered by Passport that offers fans both digital and physical experiences. Everywhere he travels, Aoki gives those in need a sense of belonging.
ABOUT Justin Blau
Famous singer, producer, and artist Justin Blau, aka 3LAU, also serves as CEO of Royal. It all began at college fraternity parties, but now 3LAU has played to sold-out crowds all over the world and had their music streamed over a billion times on services like Spotify, Soundcloud, YouTube, and others. The band has played at major events like Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Las Vegas/Korea/Orlando, Ultra, Electric Zoo, Lollapalooza, and Life Is Beautiful. Justin, a trailblazer in the cryptocurrency community, has been advocating for blockchain music investment since 2017. He has tokenized his own music to sell over $20M in primary sales through NFT drops. After completing these studies, navigating difficult copyright regulations, and overcoming unfair business practices, Justin was inspired to co-found Royal to make it possible for any artist to share their music with fans and give people from all over the world the opportunity to collaborate with the musicians they want to see succeed. Nas, Diplo, and The Chainsmokers all featured prominently at the Royal premiere in January of 2022.
