Thursday was a big day for RCD Espanyol as German outfitter Puma announced that they would be the dressing the Periquitos effective June 1st.
The Barcelona side will be making the switch and allowing the German company to be their official outfitter and they plan on launching their first kit sometime in July. Puma’s deal with Espanyol also extends into accessories and footwear that the club will use exclusively.
This deal will not only be limited to football. This deal will also extend into the other disciplines that club members and professional athletes partake in representing its colors.
For Puma’s head of International Sports Marketing, Christian Voigt, this is a positive step for the company as they look to establish a greater presence in the Spanish market. “La Liga is very prevalent internationally and one key area in which we would like to expand out global portfolio is through our “Back On The Attack” campaign,” he said.
