Donald Trump offered sort of an apology for his lewd tape describing how he sexually assaults women (and can get away with it because of his celebrity) in the last debate. But mainly, he just tried to minimize his behavior by calling it "locker room" banter -- suggesting that this is common behavior by most men. Then he brought up Bill Clinton's past to try and smear Hillary Clinton.
He may have thought he had successfully defused the scandal, but the American public has a different view. Most thought his apology was inadequate (51% to 31%), and they also didn't like his attack on Bill Clinton to cover his own misbehavior (55% to 37%). And those same opinions crossed all gender, age, and racial groups.
Trump still has a lot of work to do, and he's running out of time to do it.
