Public Is NOT Enamored With The GOP's Health Plan
The charts above are from two new polls, and reflect how the public feels about the Republican plan to replace Obamacare (and what they feel should be done with Obamacare). The polls are:
The Public Policy Polling survey done between March 10th and 12th of a random national sample of 808 registered voters, with a 3.4 point margin of error.
The NBC News / SurveyMonkey Poll done between March 10th and 13th of a random national sample of 2,423 adults.
Both polls show the public doesn't think much of the new Republican plan. In the PPP survey, people oppose the plan by a 25 point margin -- and in the NBC poll, it is opposed by a 13 point margin.
While people didn't think Obamacare was everything they wanted, they are afraid of the changes the Republicans want to make. Most would prefer that Obamacare be kept and fixed instead of repealed and replaced -- in the PPP survey by a 31 point margin, and in the NBC poll by a 29 point margin.
The Republicans would be making a serious mistake if they pass their plan without first getting the public to support it -- and right now, the public is a long way from supporting it.
