PS5 Restock Updates for Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, Amazon, Target and More

It's ridiculously difficult to buy a PS5 console right now, at least without getting it as part of an overpriced package or paying well above retail price. Since the console was released on November 12th, it's been consistently sold out everywhere. Currently, the only consoles you can buy are on reseller websites such as: Ebay and StockX, often at several times its retail value (for example, the PS5 typically sells for around $ 1,000 on eBay). Much of this problem can be traced back to the fact that normal users had to compete with bots and resellers.

Good news: at CES last week, Sony confirmed that various games like Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Little Devil Inside and Solar Ash are on track for their planned release dates in the first half of the year. So if you already have a PS5 in hand, good times are ahead of you. For the rest of us, however, inventory is virtually nonexistent.

Twitter may be a good source to check for reorder news, but even that platform has been quiet lately regarding large inventory losses. Instead, retailers seem to be moving towards a policy of smaller, more frequent drops that sell out quickly without much online fanfare. Either way, it will take a while before a PS5 is easy to find. However, we'll be keeping an eye out for re-orders and updating this article if it looks like you might be able to get a PS5.

The PS5 is available in two versions: a $ 500 model with Blu-rayand an otherwise identical $ 400 digital-only version with no disc slot. At this point people are happy to get their hands on both of them, but if you don't have an optical disc library - for Blu-ray movies, used games, or old PS4 games - we recommend you Go with the $ 400 version.

OK, you've worn out all of the online and brick-and-mortar retailers and decided to pay a premium of over $ 300 to get this pup soon. As your friends we have to tell you: Do not do it. If you don't want to listen to us, then you should check out StockX, an eBay alternative that made a name for itself in the secondary market for sneakers and designer clothing. The last time we checked, the PS5 was priced around $ 700.
