The ability to play your old games on a next-gen console is a big deal at start-up unless there are many new games to justify the hundreds of dollars you spent on a shiny new machine. Sony and Microsoft clearly know this when they hit the market in November 2020 PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. are approaching after both of them have discussed their backward compatibility features.
The two companies have been fighting in the console wars for decades - Sony since 1994 and Microsoft since 2001 - So they both put together great catalogs of classics. PS5
