Proud Mommy!

Me & my baby

Last week I met with Zahara's teacher for our 1st official parent teacher conference. I have confidence in my baby but I was a little nervous about our meeting. I did not want to hear any bad news so I asked Zahara to tell me anything she did that might upset me ahead of time, before her teacher had the chance to tell me. She said "Mommy, I might be bad at home sometimes but I am always good at school."
Thank God she was telling the truth! I almost cried tears of joy during that conference! Her teacher described my baby as perfect! She showed me some of her drawings and she said that Zahara is such a happy child and it is obvious that we teach her at home.
There was 1 picture that she drew that I will never forget. It was a picture of me, her and Ricardo and we all had our tongues sticking out. Her teacher told me that she asked Zahara why she drew us like that and she said because her family is silly and we are always laughing. That is definitely a fact, we have a lot of fun in our home but hearing that my 4 year old told her teacher that really melted my heart. She had so many positive things to say about Zahara and our family. I  left there feeling so accomplished.  Zahara is right, she is not always the perfect child when we are in the house but my baby knows how to act like a little lady in public and I am happy to take the credit for that! :)
It's the little things that matter most...
