A protest was held outside the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) headquarters on Saturday, with demonstrators demanding the resignation of the cricket board following the national team’s continued poor performances.
The protest, led by a Buddhist monk, saw participants calling on SLC President Shammi Silva to step down. Protesters chanted slogans urging the board to “go home” and accused officials of failing to restore the standards of Sri Lanka cricket.
Police were deployed to the area to maintain order, and no incidents were immediately reported. (Newswire)
