Proposed Law: Tougher on Get Refusers

By Gldmeier @gldmeier
According to INN, Minister of Religious Affairs Matan Kahane has proposed a law to step up the fight against get refusal.
Kahane has proposed amending the law to expand the sanctions the beis din is allowed to impose upon someone deemed to be a "get refuser".
The new sanctions, if the law would pass, would give beis din the power and authority to prevent prevent banking and commercial services from such a person, prevent use of a credit card and other modern digital payment platforms, slap the refuser with direct fines, require immediate isolation in exceptional cases, and more, in addition to religious sanctions as well called Harchakot dRabbeinu Tam.
The Ministerial Legislative Committee has approved the proposal and it will now move to the Knesset for preparation and voting.
