With the Mobile World Congress in session right now, innovation is being unleashed with full force. Many exciting devices have been launched. Many more are waiting to wow the consumers. And I’m sure many technology lovers are waiting eagerly to see what else is about to come.

But let’s move a little further ahead into the future of technology and innovation. Because if you think the devices being launched in the MWC are awesome, just wait till I tell you what wonders might be in store for us in the realms of the future technology.

All that I’m going to say now may appear too futuristic. But this imagination, this concept device by 91mobiles.com is based totally on what’s possible and might really turn into reality soon.

91mobiles is India’s largest gadget research website. It hosts news of all the latest happenings in the world of gadgets, along with product catalogue, comparison charts, product images and reviews. 91mobiles now boasts of having over 250,000 visitors per day.

Based on their numerous consumer surveys and research, 91mobiles.com have brought out a new ‘concept’ smartphone that gives a glimpse of what wonderful technology and innovation we might come to enjoy in future.

This Project ARIA concept takes into account the wishes and desires of common consumers in terms of what they want from their mobile devices. Factors like performance, battery life, device appearance, camera excellence, display etc. have all been considered by 91mobiles to come up with a concept that’s sure to make all the super exciting devices being launched at MWC look a little bland.

But as this is a concept device, it’s still the stuff of future. So don’t let it spoil your joy and excitement for the technology of the present. Enjoy the present, and look forward to the future.

Now, if I have successfully managed to make you curious about this Project ARIA concept device, let me tell you what its designers have visualized it to have.

Battery performance is one of the main concerns for all smartphone users. And battery weight is one of the main concerns for smartphone makers who are all racing to make their devices as thin and as light as possible. The Project ARIA concept does away with the battery and replaces it with Super-capacitors. Super-capacitors are much lighter in weight than conventional batteries being used today in smartphones. And they are capable of offering ten times more battery life with much less time needed for recharge.

Do you think that sounds interesting? Read on.

Modular and replaceable components

How about a smartphone that has a modular and replaceable hardware? Today, if you want more internal storage, you buy a bigger microSD card and insert it in your phone. But what if you start feeling the need of a faster processor, more RAM or battery power or a more superior camera? And yet, you don’t want to go to the expense of buying a new smartphone? Well, Project ARIA envisions a future where you will have the option to replace and upgrade parts of your smartphone, without having to change the entire phone and buy a new one.

Our smartphones are already our entertainment hub, reading center, personal assistant, communication expert and so much more, aren’t they? But with the speed the technology is racing ahead, the smartphone devices are surely geared to adopt a great and greater role. Project ARIA bestows the smartphone with the power of Holographic Video Projection. This would allow the mobile device to offer bigger and life-like video experience. Just imagine video calling someone and seeing their face not in a small four or five inch screen but in a real, more life-like size? Or projecting a 4D video to enjoy a more immersive video viewing experience. Interesting, huh?

Project ARIA concept device also has a Vibration transducer speaker system which helps the device in turning any flat surface into a large and powerful speaker, thus enhancing the audio experience.

One feature of the smartphone that’s gaining greater and greater importance is its camera. And Project ARIA concept smartphone doesn’t disappoint in that either. Project ARIA equips the smartphone with a Lytro camera that is capable of capturing the entire depth of field, instead of focusing just on the subject. This will allow users to change the perspective in whichever way they like and endlessly refocus, after the picture has been taken.
