We've had a relaxing week in the run down to school starting. It's a big year for us as Liv will get to embark on her Secondary school journey. It isn't going to be the start we imagined, having had to digest a 16 page document on how the school will operate due to Covid-19 levels being high in our area, but the good news is that we can at least go back to school!
I'm sure I'm not the only one who is relieved that school's are returning, it's a little glimmer of 'normal life' especially as we edge ever closer to the end of the year. Can you believe we are almost in September?
The weather has been absolutely pants this week, but we have been out and about... so, let's have a look at what we have been up to this week!
Project 366 Week 35 - We Finally Did It
Getting out and about
Well, we finally did it! On one of our walks along our favourite walking path we finally placed our painted stone on the Totty Snake! Can you spot which is ours?
The snake is finally due to be set in concrete to be preseved as a reminder of the community coming together during this crazy year! Alongside our own stone, we also spotted a few more favourites, included the pirate inspired stones below.
We spoke with the lovely ladies who are dedicating their time to ensuring the stones are well placed and maintained. Unfortunately their job is made slightly harder due to local muppets riding up and down on bikes thinking it's hilarious to ride over the stones and also throw them into a gully. The mindless imbeciles clearly haven't understood what the Totty Snake represents, hopefully one day they will grow up and show respect!
Along with the stones, we noticed that a local street artist has been featuring mental wellbeing messages on trees dotted along the path. The messages which are inprinted with nails really do stand out and make you stop and think when walking by.
Shopping trips
We've had a few shopping trips this week to collect last minute bits and bats for school and also the usual household necessities. I'm actually writing this post before heading out to Aldi for a food shop... on a Saturday night! How life has changed somewhat this year!
What we have been watching this week
We have been binge watching Below Deck, a sneaky peak into the lives of deck crew on mega yachts. I don't even like the sea, but of to be a charter guest on one of those yachts! As with most reality TV shows, Below Deck features the usual arguments, back stabbing, gossiping and childish pranks. If you haven't watched it yet, it's a a true guilty pleasure.
Liv and I watched Karate Kid during lockdown, so Cobra Kai being released on Netflix has come at the right time. Featuring the same actors as the film, the series is awesome! I had heard of it before but never gave it a second thought, but both Liv and I are glad we gave it a try, the story is great with flashbacks to the Karate Kid film! I've recommended it to Karen as I reckon her boys would absolutely love it, though I believe she is still working her way through RHONY thanks to me too! 😉
How has your week been? Have you watched any binge worthy series?
