He faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.
The Sheriff's Department explained the circumstances as a friendship turned sour, then violent. The DeCarlos were both friends with 24-year-old Matthew Fancher. Fancher had been the younger DeCarlo's roommate at the home Glenn DeCarlo owned.
The elder DeCarlo kicked Fancher out, according to the Sheriff's Department. When Fancher came back to the home to get his things, things got our of hand.
"As he was picking up those items, Glenn fired multiple rounds at Matthew but struck Anthony by mistake."
Glenn DeCarlo has an arrest record that includes assault, fighting in public and obstructing a highway in 2006 in El Paso County, though all of the charges were later dismissed.
He was cited for driving under the influence in El Paso County in 1993 and 2008, and a charge of violating a restraining order in 1993, another charge that was later dropped, records indicate.
