Product Review: HECK Chicken Italia Sausages

By Emma @glasgowfoodie

HECK sausages are always popular around here and this month their Chicken Italia sausage is renamed CHECK to help raise funds and awareness for the Movember Foundation.

We had to get some and see if they passed the Fred (the cat) test!

There are 10 sausages in a packet and as soon as the plastic wrapper is burst you can smell the herbs.

Mr Foodie popped some into the pan and gave them a good ole cook.

We both thought the colour looked good, browning nicely with the herbs showing through. Time for a taste.

The sausages didn't look as herby once opened but they did have a strong herby taste - the chicken is mixed with basil, tomato and mozzarella.

These would work well in a sandwich, as a main course dinner in something like risotto or with pasta.

The sausages are gluten-free and at 1.6g of fat per two sausages they are Slimming World friendly.

But for the main taste test....did Fred want to steal them?

Yes! And he returned for seconds.

We've seen HECK sausages in Morrisons, Tesco and Waitrose and they're usually around £2.99 a pack.
