Examination Commissioner General L.M.D. Dharmasena yesterday said that once the question paper is given to the children and they start writing the answers, it is not possible to collect the question papers again.

He also said that a decision will be taken after the ongoing investigation regarding the alleged injustice that occurred during the distribution of question papers to a group of students who appeared for the Grade 5 scholarship examination at the Bandaranaike National School at Galgamuwa.

“The children face injustices by these kind of incidents. We will take a decision to do justice to these students based on the recommendations of investigation report,”he said.

Examination Department officials will record statements from the students during the next two days.

He said that they are investigating the manner in which the teacher in question had acted, and whether there have been any other such mistakes by her, and if she has made a mistake, the Examinations Department has the ability to ban her from engaging in examination duties for the rest of her life.
