PR 150-1

Printemps is pulling out all the stops to celebrate their 150th anniversary.

For the windows, they have selected 11 French and international artist each to create a window. Flowers have always played an important role at Printemps and each artist was asked to do their interpretation.Brooklyn based paper artist Mia Pearlman has done some fabulous cutouts of white paper sprinkled with delicate Pantone Rubine red cherry blossoms inspired by Japanese Rinpa screen painting. One of Pearlman’s major pieces, MAELSTROM, a striking multilevel mobile 12 ft. in diameter and 11 ft. high made of cut paper, recently made a big splash by being featured at the entrance to the Art on Paper Fair in New York earlier this month.  Japanese artist Hiroshi Yoshii has created Rose, a bright pink mascot whose image will be seen throughout the store and on many products.

Thousands of flowers, including roses, cherry blossoms and hydrangeas adorn the outside awning.

Over 1,000 items have been especially designed for the anniversary by 400 fashion, beauty, and product brands.  La Maison du Chocolat has setup shop with a signature chocolate based on Rose, plus iced cocktails with rose and chocolate and special edition eclairs and macarons.
