Princess Beatrice’s Wedding Style

COVID-19 has had a detrimental effect on the wedding industry as many weddings that were originally scheduled for the first half of 2020 had to be canceled. Amidst the current global pandemic, many who were meant to tie the knot have either had to cancel or scale down their wedding in order to meet safety and precautionary measures set by the World Health Organization.

HOW DID COVID-19 EFFECT THE ROYAL WEDDING PLANS?

Princess Beatrice and her (now) husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi fell victim to the side effect of COVID-19. Due to the global pandemic, their wedding had to be rescheduled from May 29th to July 17th. Although, it was a small affair compared to royal weddings of the past. Princess Beatrice stunning in one of the Queen's vintage dresses on her wedding day.

THE TIARA

If you looked at the wedding photos, you will have noticed a familiar tiara. Princess Beatrice wore the Queen Mary Diamond Fringe Tiara, commonly known as the Fringe Tiara. Known to be one of Queen Elizabeth's favorite tiaras of all time. The Fringe Tiara was originally made for Queen Mary in 1919 by Garrard & Co and inspired by a necklace belonging to Queen Victoria. It appears to have become a family favorite among royal brides. The Fringe Tiara was worn by many royal brides including Princess Elizabeth, Princess Anne, and now Princess Beatrice.

THE DRESS

We can't stop gushing over Princess Beatrice's vintage Norman Hartnell wedding dress. She borrowed it from her grandmother, the Queen, and altered the dress to fit her personal style. Princess Beatrice added whisper-thin organza sleeves, shortened the hem to show off her shoes, and removed the volume to create her ideal wedding day look. We would definitely say this is hands- down one of our all-time favorite Princess Beatrice looks. The tiara complemented the dress's vintage embellishments and the gown's ornamentation so well.

THE ENGAGEMENT RING

Just because the dress was vintage, doesn't mean that she received a vintage engagement ring. Princess Beatrice's engagement ring is a modern twist to a traditional style engagement ring. It is a Round Diamond Center flanked with Baguette side stones set in Platinum. The engagement ring was custom made for Princess Beatrice by the society set's favorite Mayfair jeweler, Shaun Leane.

Princess Beatrice may not have had the wedding that she hoped for, but she showed us that the true meaning of a wedding is the unity between two people who love one another. We encourage our members to not feel displayed during this time of uncertainty. If there is one thing we have realized over this period is that COVID-19 has canceled many events but the one thing it hasn't canceled is Love.

On behalf of everyone at PriceScope, we would like to Congratulate Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on their marriage.
