Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had enough of the Royal family aka The Firm.
The couple announced today that they've decided to step down as senior members of the Royal family and will now spend their time between the UK and US.
"We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen, the couple wrote in a statement.
"We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honor our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages."
The couple also noted that splitting their time between the U.S. and the U.K. will give baby Archie an appreciation for both of his backgrounds.
"This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, , including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support."
Later on Wednesday, the Queen reacted via a statement from Buckingham Palace. "Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage," the statement read. "We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."
On Tuesday the couple made their first public appearance in six weeks when they thanked Canada for their hospitality. The couple. along with baby Archie spent their Christmas holiday in Canada. Meghan and Harry both looked refreshed and focused.
Before the couple released their statement quitting the Royal family, Meghan was spotted visiting some of her charities in the UK.
Anyway, I say good for Harry and Meghan! You can't pay for loyalty or a peace of mind!
