Prince George Is Ready To Rule His First Tiny Kingdom (Aka The Playground)
Depending on where you live, a lot of kids started school this week. You know who else started school this week? A certain fancy Royal kid named Prince George! That’s right, side-eye baby is in big kid school now. Ah, how time flies.
Kensington Palace tweeted out a picture of His Royal Recess’ness with Prince William before he strolled into Thomas’s Battersea, a place that sounds like an upscale fish n’ chips place but is actually a private school. Look at him in his little sweater and loafers, with his hand casually tucked into his little pocket. I know he’s only four, but he totally looks like the fun boss of a law firm on a casual Friday. I feel like at any minute he’s going to ask me if I’m working hard or hardly working.
Duchess Kate was missing from Prince George’s first day of school, because she’s got a case of third-baby Hypermesis Gravidarum. But thankfully Prince William ran a play-by-play of George’s first day, and there’s plenty of pictures. Here’s Prince George with the principal of the lower school:

And here’s Prince George greeting her in almost the same way I respond to seeing a Taco Bell while driving:
Prince George saying HI to the head mistress is the cutest thing that ever happened today.

Apparently Prince George will do half-days for now, and will eventually level up to staying for lunch, which will transition to all day school. Today was his first half day, and according to The Sun UK, Prince William said it “went well.” Okay, but was Prince George the bad kid in class, knocking toys off tables and claiming the swings as Crown land? No, Prince William says there was one other parent who had “more of an issue with their children,” and that he was “quite pleased I wasn’t the one.”
Sure. Little does William know that Prince George cornered that other kid at the cubbies, slipped them a bag of 18th Century coins and a coupon for one free Corgi and whispered, “Oi mate, make me look good today, right?” No, Prince George is just a kid. Honestly, he was probably on his best behavior because he was promised Goldfish at snack time.
