Hand sketching is definitely a pass time in the fashion world. Many designers have resorted to a quick and more efficient way of sketching their design ideas by using modern technology like Illustrator or Photoshop. Sketching by hand can be very time-consuming and a labor of the love. The end result however is a designer’s artistic masterpiece. I adore the opportunity to view the hand sketches of celebrated designers like Prada. This is a real treat to see Miuccia Prada’s hand sketches of the costumes from the highly anticipated movie – “The Great Gatsby”. The 1920′s beaded striped shift dress is my FAVE! I’m so looking forward to seeing this movie. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire to name a few. The Great Gatsby will hit theaters in late spring (May 10).
