apple Many big announcements are planned this year, which includes many products, from chipsets to Macs. Apple Annual Developers Conference (WWDC) is going to happen on 5th of next month i.e. on 5th June, 2023. In this big event of the company, along with new software, many hardware products will also be announced. According to reports, the company may launch at least three new Mac models next month.

The company’s latest ARM processor Apple M2 can be found in all these three models. However, before this the company has also started testing the M3 chip. According to the information, the company will launch new Mac models later this year. Apple M3 will be given in these. Come, read below to know in detail.

When will Mac models with Apple M3 launch?

The latest report by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg states that the first Mac to come with Apple M3 Silicon will be launched later this year or early 2024.

M3 chip will be more powerful than M2 Pro

The company may introduce multiple variants of the M3, including the M3 Pro chip. According to Gurman, the M3 Pro will come with 12 CPU cores and 18 GPU cores. Furthermore, the chipset will be coupled with 36GB of RAM.

App Store developers have collected some data on prototype Mac models with the M3 chip. Based on this data and Gurman’s review, the M3 Pro chipset may get two more CPU and GPU cores than the M2 Pro. Also, the RAM capacity will also be higher than the 32GB RAM offered in the M2 Pro.

The report adds that the specifications of the base M3, M3 Max and M3 Ultra chipsets will also see a similar bump compared to their previous generation models. Gurman said that the M3 Pro chip will come with six high-performance cores and six efficiency cores, compared to six high-performance cores and four efficiency cores on the M2 Pro chip.

Those two more efficiency cores could give the M3 Pro an edge on power consumption, which should lead to better battery life. This is also similar to what Apple did when it launched the M2 chip, where it only bumped up the efficiency cores.

More cores will be available in M3 Max and M3 Ultra

If Apple follows the same pattern for the rest of the chip, the M3 Max could get 14 CPU cores and 40 GPU cores. At the same time, 28 CPU cores and more than 80 graphics cores can be given in M3 Ultra.

Gurman said that the upcoming Apple M3 series could be based on a 3-nanometer fabrication process, which could increase the performance of each core due to the increased core density. In addition, Apple is already working on M3 powered iMacs, MacBook Pros, and MacBook Airs models.
