Homemade Potato Wedges Recipe

My daughter is a fan of potato wedges. Before I used to buy ready to fry ones form market. It is really easy to make and tastes great. You just need few ingredients and done. You can keep the batter thick or thin of your choice and also microwave them or grill and bake them if you want to avoid deep frying. My daughter and whole family loves this as a evening snack and also take this for her school short break.

Prep time: 20 min
Cook time: 15 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients: -

  • Potatoes 6-8
  • Black Pepper 1 tsp crushed
  • Red Chilly Powder or Flakes 1/2 tsp
  • Oregano 1/2 tsp (Optional)
  • All Purpose Flour/ Maida 1/4 cup
  • Cornflour 2 tbsp
  • Chat Masala 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to deep fry

Method:-

  • Clean the potatoes by scrubbing them and wash them nicely.
  • Cut them in half lengthwise and then in wedges.
  • Keep them in a mixing bowl then add the flour and cornflour .
  • Add black pepper powder, red chilly flakes, oregano and salt.
  • Add enough water and mix well to coat the potatoes well with the mixture.
  • Heat oil in a pan or kadai and deep fry them till it becomes golden brown and crispy.
  • Take out and drain access oil in a kitchen towel.
  • sprinkle some chat masala over the wedges.
  • Serve with ketchup of your choice and enjoy.
