Ingredients:

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and boiled
  • 2 medium carrots, peeled and boiled
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (only for babies above 1 year)
  • 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  • Start by boiling the potatoes and carrots until they’re tender. You can do this in a large pot of boiling water for about 15-20 minutes. Once they are cooked, drain the water and let them cool.
  • Once the potatoes and carrots are cool enough to handle, grate or mash them in a large mixing bowl. You can use a potato masher or a fork to do this.
  • Add the chopped onion, fresh coriander, salt, black pepper, to the potato-carrot mixture. Mix everything well.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg. Add the beaten egg to the potato and carrot mixture. This will help to bind the patties together.[ Yogurt can be used as an egg replacement,typically, 1/4 cup of yogurt can replace one egg]

  • Vegetables can be steamed instead of boiling.
  • A pinch of pepper can be added for babies below 1 year (above 6 months).
  • Instead of potatoes, sweet potatoes can also be added.
  • And instead of breadcrumbs ,besan can be used.
