Postcards From Amarante, Portugal

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy

Amarante, Portugal

If you’re looking for day-tripping options from Porto, a place worth plugging into your GPS is the Romanesque town of Amarante, 60km to the east. Like other interesting towns in Portugal, there’s a river running through the middle (the Tâmega) and it has local folklore (Gonçalo’s tomb bringing luck). I’ve written about it here:

An Afternoon In Amarante
Igreja de São Gonçalo, Amarante

I’ve edited and uploaded a fresh batch of pictures to the album, posting some as postcards. For the rest see the growing collection in Flickr.
