Craving Thai food while we were in Bocas del Toro, our desk clerk sent us to The Lemongrass, a restaurant and bar that served up delicious Asian fusion dishes. Now called Mariposa, the eatery is one of the most popular ones on the island, partly because of its location and partly because of its live entertainment.
A narrow staircase leads up to the restaurant, on the second floor of an old wooden building, where tables provided a great view across the water to nearby islands.
We enjoyed our Thai curries and the sunset view while a friendly local musician entertained everyone with his tropical rhythms. It was a fusion of its own: popular music blended with a Latin beat and flavor.
