Porridge Radio have collaborated with Lala Lala (Chicago-based musician Lillie West) to write, record and release brand new song ‘Good For You’. Porridge Radio’s first new music since their highly acclaimed debut album ‘Every bad’ was released back in March, the song came to Dana of the band when she was eating breakfast during lockdown: ‘I really love Lillie’s music, and we were vaguely in touch through the internet, so when Lillie got in touch asking if I wanted to make a song together, and then a few days later I’d written this song, it felt really right to collaborate on it.’
Opening with some subtle piano and atmospheric guitar work that reminded us of Lucy Dacus, it finds both singers laying bare their feelings: ‘Be specific, if there’s something that you need’; ‘I don’t know what I feel. I think about it and I feel that I can breathe’. There are some stirring harmonies as the band talk about the differences between someone imagining their future while they are more focused on the wider picture: ‘And you can imagine the rest of your life, well, good for you. And I can imagine the end of the world and nothing else’.
