Ponderware Are Selling the IP Rights to MoonCat NFTs

Posted on the 19 April 2022 by Nftnewspro

Ponderware, the creator of the historic NFT series’ MoonCats, is ready to sell the IP rights. This attractive development comes after countless concerns from the MoonCats community who are eager to see the project progress and come up with something new.

They confirmed in a statement through their Discord that all options are on the table.
MoonCats, (formally MoonCatRescue) is a true piece of NFT history. This 8-bit NFT series which consists of 25,440 pieces were released in 2017, soon after CryptoPunks.

What is the importance of the NFT MoonCats series?

This is one of the first NFT projects and one of the initial NFT productive art ETH projects. Mainly though, there was no public mint; thus, the founders never received the investment money which NFT projects currently receive.

In a Discord statement, the MoonCats NFT group stated: “Ponderware is at least ready to hear suggestions from those interested in getting the MoonCat IP and their views on the brand.” This shows that they aim to know how the new owners will continue the project. It is clear that they aim to see if this is in line with their principles.

Ultimately, a new NFT project named Moonbirds raised more than $66 million in the last few days. This project was released with a mint price of 2.5 ETH. Most essentially, it will presently offer the group to develop and advance the project, which is something that the MoonCats NFT group never had the opportunity to experience.
