A suspect was injured during a shooting that took place in Uragasmanhandiya. According to police, a team of police had gone to arrest the suspect over an assault on a person.
When the police party reached his location, he had tried to attack police officials using a sharp object. Police had shot at his leg to prevent him attacking the police officers. The suspect was later admitted to the hospital.
