Police Found Wanting on Girl’s Complaint

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in charge of the Panadura Division Samantha Wedage has initiated an investigation against the Bandaragama Police for not conducting investigations in a proper manner against the incident where a boy had hacked the Facebook account of a 17-year-old girl and publicised her as a prostitute on the same FB account.

The investigation is being led by ASP Upali Thalagala, police said.

In addition, the SSP has taken steps to forward the girl’s complaint to the Divisional Crimes Investigation Unit of Panadura in order to probe the case in a proper manner.
