Police Arrest Trainer For Pulling 12-year-old Scholar's Hair
The police have arrested a 49-year-old instructor for allegedly pulling the hair of a 12-year-old pupil.
The instructor is alleged to have pulled the coed's hair throughout an altercation at a Connecticut magnet faculty final week, marking the fourth instructor arrested within the district since November, in accordance with experiences.
Police responded to a reported assault on the King/Robinson Inter-district Magnet College in New Haven round 3:45 p.m. Feb. 1.
Throughout their investigation, officers mentioned the coed accused her instructor of pulling her by her hair, in accordance with WTNH.
Jennifer Wells-Jackson, a 49-year-old veteran faculty instructor, was charged with threat of damage to a minor and second-degree breach of peace.
Video seems to indicate the instructor holding onto 12-year-old Destinique James' hair behind her as a number of different college students scream round her earlier than she lets go.
The coed was not critically injured and declined medical consideration, police mentioned.
The coed's mom, Destine James, instructed WTNH she is disgusted by the incident. Her daughter instructed her that the ultimate bell of the day had simply dismissed college students when the altercation occurred.
Destine mentioned: "There's certain things you say and there's certain things you don't say, there's certain things you do and certain things you're not supposed to do especially when dealing with people's children. At the end of the day, there's no justification for putting your hands on someone's child."
New Haven Public Faculties officers mentioned the district takes the protection of its college students very critically, and that the district is totally cooperating with the investigation.
Wells-Jackson was launched on a $20,000 bond and is predicted to seem in courtroom this week.
