Pokemon’s Nintendo Switch fighting spinoff is free until next Tuesday

If you were curious about the Pokemon fighting game Pokken Tournament DX, it's currently free for Nintendo Switch online subscribers. The free period runs from Wednesday, July 29th until the end of Tuesday, August 4th, according to Nintendo's US Twitter account.

You can download the trial version from the Nintendo website. Any progress you make during the free period will be carried over if you buy the game after it ends, as the CNET sister site GameSpot found.

Entertain your brain with the coolest news, from streaming to superheroes, memes to video games.

Pokken Tournament DX was launched on Switch in 2017 as an expanded port of a 2016 Wii U game and has seen you play as Pokemon in one-on-one battles. GameSpot released the Wii U version 9/10 in its review. So it's definitely worth a try if you're a Pokemon fan who has already subscribed to Switch Online.

Subscribing to Nintendo's $ 20 service annually also gives you access to online multiplayer, a range of classic NES and SNES games, and special subscription-only deals.
