REVIEW
Not Many Love Poems tells the stories of a life, the stories kept close to the heart: long friendships and shorter love affairs, close bonds of family scattered across transatlantic distances, passion and loss.

I’ve never heard of Linda Chase. The name doesn’t ring a bell anyway. I chose to read this collection because I thought the woman on the front cover looked sad and I wanted to know why. I like the title as well. It intrigued me.

I really enjoyed this collection of poems. I’m a sucker for poems that use the themes love, pain and relationships (both the light and dark). Chase offers this in spades in this collection. These poems touched me. I felt an emotional link. For a poem to work for me, I need to feel it in every part of me. This was the cast for most of the poems in Not Many Love Poems. I’d read the poet again.
