I have posted the recipe of making Idli podi in my blog , you can check that and make your own batch. Idli podi goes well with dosa, uttapam amd normal idli sambhar etc.

How to Make Idli Podi-

With your normal idli batter  make small size mini idlis and if you don’t have mini idli mold then don’t worry just steam normal size idlis and when done scoop out and let them cool down a bit. Instead of making them fresh you can use your leftover idlis too, just heat them in a microwave. You can also make these using rava idli’s

heat some ghee or oil in a pan and then add 1 tsp of mustard seeds and let them crackle , then add asafoetida and curry leaves , you can also add few broken cashew pieces if you want.

Now add the idlis and stir fry for a minute. Now add 2 tbsp of idli podi on the idlis and mix , keep stirring on low heat for a minute so the podi coats the idlis well. you can slightly adjust the quantity of podi as per your preference. You can add 1 tbsp of ghee at this stage if they feel dry.

Can Garnish with some fresh coriander .Now serve hot podi idli with coconut chutney and enjoy .
