எனநான்கே ஏமம் படைக்கு
வீரம்,
மானம், சிறந்த வழியில்நடக்கும் நடக்கை, தலைவரால் நம்பித் தெளியப்படுதல் ஆகிய நான்கு
பண்புகளும் படைக்குச் சிறந்தவையாகும்.
Valour,
honour, following in the excellent-footsteps (of its predecessors) and
trust-worthiness; these four alone constitute the safeguard of an army.
'மாண்ட வழிச்செலவு'
என்றதற்கு நல்வழிச்சேறல், அரசர்க்கு ஏவல் வழி பிழையாது செல்லல், முன்வீரராயினார் சென்ற
நன்னெறிக்கண் சேறல், உயர்ந்த வீரர் ஒழுகிய நல்வழியிற் ஒழுகுதல், சிறந்த வழியில் நடக்கும்
நடக்கை, கண்டவுடன் மாற்றாரும் அஞ்சும் கம்பீரமான
வழிநடை, முன்னோர்வழிவந்த சிறந்த படைத்திற வழிகள், முன்னோர் வகுத்துத் தந்த படையைச்
செலுத்தும் நல்வழிமுறைகள் என பல நல்ல பொருள் கூறலாம். போர்ச்செயல்களுக்குஒருவாறான ஒழுங்குமுறை, பண்பாடுகள் உருவாகி வந்துள்ளன.
அவற்றைப் பின்பற்றியே பெரும்பான்மையும் போர்கள் நடைபெற்று வந்தன. புறமுதுகுகாட்டி ஓடுவோர், தோல்வியை ஒப்புக்கொண்டோர்,
வீரமற்றவர் போன்றோரிடம் படை தன் வீரத்தைக் காட்டாது. இவை போன்ற நெறியைப் பின்பற்றுவதையே
மாண்ட வழிச்செலவு என இக்குறள் கூறுகிறது. ‘மாண்ட வழிச் செலவு’ என்பது படையொழுங்கின்படி
அணிவகுத்துப் பெருமிதம்கொள்வது.
Nimo is the headquarters of the Nimoo block in the Leh district of Ladakh, India. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, made a surprise visit to Ladakh today and addressed the soldiers.He said India’s enemies have seen her “fire and fury” in a nod to the Leh-based 14 Corps while addressing soldiers. During his visit, the prime minister was seen wearing a cap with the 14 Corps insignia embossed on it. The insignia comprises two crossed flaming thunderbolts (Vajra) with a sword in between. 14 Corps is the only corps in the Indian Army that faces both Pakistan and China. The world’s highest battlefield Siachen falls under the purview of the 14 Corps. In his speech, Modi said the age of expansionism is over and this is the age of development. “History is witness that expansionist forces have either lost or were forced to turn back,” he said. XIV Corps or Fire and Fury Corps is a part of the Army's Udhampur-based Northern Command.It was raised in 1962 even as the disastrous war was underway, from elements of HQ Nagaland and kept as an Eastern Command reserve, even though it almost always remained on CI duty.The 14 Corps looks after military deployment along Kargil-Leh and looks after the frontiers with China, Pakistan and also guards the Siachen glacier. The Indian Army's 14 Corps is strategically important to India as it is used to carry essential supplies to Siachen. The visit of the Prime Minister Shri Modi has served as a great morale booster for the forces and a powerful message to China, which has shown unrelenting aggression at the border with incursions seen in satellite images. "The weak can never accomplish peace, the brave do," he asserted. Personnel of the Army, Air Force and ITBP were present for the interaction
Prime Minister Narendra
Modi also visited the hospital and interacted with soldiers who were injured in
Galwan Valley during clashes with Chinese troops. "Our country has never bowed down and
will never bow down to any world power, and I am able to say this because of
braves like you," the PM said as he interacted with the soldiers at the
hospital.
A rattled China reacted to
the visit. "India and China are in communication and negotiations on
lowering the temperatures through military and diplomatic channels. No party
should engage in any action that may escalate the situation at this
point," Zhao Lijian, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, was quoted by
news agency ANI as saying.
