PM Modi to Attend Global Covid-19 Summit Hosted by US President Biden Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the second global virtual summit in Covid-19 on Thursday organized by US President Joe Biden, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on Wednesday.

PM also participated in the first Global Summit held in September 2021.

According to the statement, the PM will comment on the opening session of the Summit with the theme ‘Preventing Pandemic Fatigue and Prioritizing Readiness’.

“India plays an important role in the ongoing global effort to fight Pandemic by supplying safe and affordable vaccines, medicines, development of low-cost original technology to test and care for, genome supervision, and capacity building for health care workers,” the statement Read.

India is also proactively involved in multilateral forums with the aim of strengthening and reforming global health security architecture with WHO at its center, “he added.

The Summit will also be attended by the Head of State/Government of Belize in his capacity as the Chair of Caricom, Senegal as Chair of the African Union, Indonesia as President of G20 and Germany each as President of G7. Secretary General of the United Nations, Director General of World Health Organizations and other high officials will also participate.

The Caribbean community is an inter -government organization consisting of 15 member countries in the Caribbean region that has the main goal to promote economic integration and cooperation among members.
