After a serious renovation completed this year, the Plaza Athenee spa is winning awards as a premier day spa in Manhattan. I enjoyed a 80-minute facial there last month, in an Asian themed private suite that started off with unique tea selections and fabulous Parisian petit fours. Each suite contains your dressing room, a shower, toilet, and lounge area. I haven't seen this done as often as I am in spas and prefer it greatly to the uncomfortable locker room atmosphere that I'm used to.
The spa carries both Valmont and Babour lines, both highly regarded and effective skin care products.
The therapist was very knowledgeable and did a great job.
This is the perfect place to escape the insanity of NYC and be whisked to relaxation even for just for a few hours. I have yet to see the rooms that were redone and will report when I do.
