It's a stressful world out there right now, so why not relax with one of the toughest games out there? I child. But Dark Souls, originally released in 2011, has really launched a series of extremely challenging, difficult games, so newer titles like Nioh are known as "Dark Souls but with X".

Batman Arkham Knight gets a bad rap. Arkham Asylum was a surprisingly great game, and its sequel, Arkham City, took the formula a step further by expanding Batman's world. Arkham Knight ... added the Batmobile. Granted, not a big leap forward from Arkham City. But Arkham Knight still has a fantastic fight, a compelling story, and a satisfyingly intense atmosphere. And by September 3rd, it's only five dollars.
