The first wedding of the year is always an exciting one for any wedding videographer. It’s even more exciting when it’s a new (and stunning) venue in Corwen (Plas Isaf, North Wales), you’re working with some amazingly talented wedding suppliers (nod to Ioan at Celynnen Photography) and the couple are so perfectly lovely you know it’s going to be a wonderful day to film…
The day started by being welcomed in to Elin’s Mum’s house in Wrexham and offered a refreshing juice before I could even turn my camera on.
The house was filled with excitement and chatter as each room was filled with numerous hair and make-up artists getting the Bride and her bridal party ready.
Over at Nathan’s house the boys practised their dance moves before getting themselves in to their smart navy suits and attempting the fiddly buttonholes.
It was soon time to get Elin in to her stunning fishtail wedding dress, with her Mum on hand to get it perfect. I’m not sure who started first but Elin and her Dad were soon in tears when he came to see her all ready to depart for her wedding.
At Plas Isaf Country Barn and Gardens the sun was still trying to peek through as Nathan welcomed his guests. I had the pleasure of traveling with Elin and her Dad in their friend’s white Jaguar across the beautiful hills of North Wales enjoying some gossip before arriving at the wedding venue ourselves.
Guests looked on with huge beaming smiles as Elin made her way down the aisle to her Husband to be (also grinning from ear to ear).
The stunning barn venue was the perfect setting for this laid back wedding and they even had a stunning barn owl deliver the rings to them during the ceremony (although he was so keen to be the star of the show he wouldn’t fly back, the Best Man had to run him back to his owner!).
Vows were spoken in both English and Welsh, along with a few songs the guests could sing along to.
Nathan even got in to it and danced along to ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ (obviously a favorite of his).
After the ceremony guests made their way out on to the patio outside the Plas Isaf barn and enjoyed canapes in the sunshine. Ioan from Celynnen Photography then took charge and started ticking off the group wedding photos list!
While waiting their turn guests could have a hold of a barn owl before they bought out a stunning eagle owl to wow the guests.
Guests were soon invited to take their seats in the marquee for the wedding breakfast. Dressed in vintage style bunting and simple flowers it looks cute! The Bride and Groom were announced in to huge applause before taking their seats and enjoying their meal.
Speeches took place before the desserts and not only did we have the traditional ones of Father of the Bride, Groom and Best Man but we also had ones from the Father of the Groom, Chief Bridesmaid and the Grandparent’s which was a lovely surprise!
The barn was soon ready to welcome the couple to the dancefloor to enjoy their first dance as Husband and Wife.
The giant LOVE letters on the balcony gave the perfect glow over the newlyweds. But as soon as the song was over the guests piled on the floor and were soon competing in a dance off as DJ Shaun Carr got the party started with Party Rock Anthem…
It really was an amazing way to kick off the wedding season for me. Not only a great venue, amazing day and wonderful suppliers to enjoy the day with but also a really REALLY nice couple. So fun and an honor to have been chosen to capture the day for them!
I can’t wait to get started on the rest of their wedding films (and they’ve chosen A LOT!!!!).
