Back in June we missed a couple of days in the Plaque366 project, so here's another post with two plaques to make sure that the ledger balances by 31st December…

…on Norwood Grove, a mansion set in ornamental gardens in South London. To be “much respected for their beneficence” is quite an accolade.
A further plaque…

… tells us that the previous resident was one Arthur Anderson, founder of the P&O shipping line. The grounds of the mansion were opened to the public in 1926 by H.R.H the Prince of Wales – the man who would, albeit briefly, become King Edward VIII. King Edward VIII is famous in royal history as being the man who abdicated the throne in 1937 to marry the woman he loved, Wallis Simpson.
