Plants Vs Zombies Tier List – Check out our Plants vs. Zombies tier list to see which are the best PvZ1 plants in the game.

For the uninitiated, Plants vs Zombies is a tower defense game where you use plants to protect your home from zombies.

With so many plants at your disposal both in the base game and in the DLC, there are many combinations that can be used to create an effective front.

So below is our very own Plants vs. Zombies ranking (1st generation game) to help you decide which plants to use in your PvZ garden.

We ranked the plants in the PvZ rating list from best (S Tier) to worst (E Tier).

Plants Vs Zombies Tier List – Best Tier S Plants

These plants are the best of their kind. They are versatile and can play any role in your deck, from offense to defense. They’re also great for any strategy you want to execute, be it defensive or aggressive. These plants are great for PvZ newbies and veterans alike:

  • Imitater
  • Wintermelon
  • Cattail
  • Gloom-Shroom
  • Cob Cannon

Plants Vs Zombies Tier List – Tier A Plants

The following tier of plants is the A-rank. These are great plants that can take you to the end of the game. They can easily pass through each tier, but only lag behind the S tier of plants.

  • Cherry Bomb
  • Doom-Shroom
  • Gatling Pea
  • Melon-Pult
  • Puff-Shroom
  • Pumpkin
  • Spikerock
  • Squash
  • Starfruit

These are great all-rounders, and some of them can be used as backups if you don’t have an S-Tier plant on hand.

Plants Vs Zombies – Tier B Plants

Tier B plants are your mid-range investments. They’re not bad, but they’re not great either. They have their ups and downs. The best example is Tall Nut, which is very useful when combined with other defense plants, but can only do so much in a solo situation.

  • Fune-Shroom
  • Garlic
  • Jalapeno
  • Magnet-Shroom
  • Potato Mine
  • Repeater
  • Sea-Shroom
  • Snow Pea
  • Tall-Nut
  • Torchowood

Plants Vs Zombies – Tier C Plants

Tier C plants are below average, but while they’re not the best, they’re not the absolute worst either. So you can use some of these in your PvZ1 garden for some easy levels.

  • Blover
  • Hypno-Shroom
  • Ice-Shroom
  • Kernel-Pult
  • Spikeweed
  • Split Pea
  • Tangle Kelp
  • Threepeater
  • Wall-Nut

Tier D Plants

Tier D plants are very bad. They really are the bottom of the barrel. These plants aren’t great, but they still have some redeeming qualities that make them worth the occasional use.

  • Cabbage-Pult
  • Chomper
  • Scaredy-Shroom

Tier E Plants

Tier E plants are very poor and should never be used. They are so bad that if you use them in a real game, you might lose the game. I’d rather be eaten by zombies than use these guys.

  • Cactus
  • Peashooter

About Plants Vs Zombies

Plants vs. Zombies is a game that everyone should play at least once. This is one of the best games out there and has been around for years.

The game is very easy to learn, but it also provides a lot of strategy and depth for players looking to get more out of their experience. The plants in the game are also great; there are many different species, each with their own unique abilities, so you can always find something new to try.

Plants vs. Zombies was developed by PopCap Games as a fun alternative to the tower defense genre, but they added unique twists to it, like lane traps, zombies, and… plants of course. Funny but mean zombie-hating plants!
