Story: Planet Dune starts when space pilot Astrid (Killian) finds herself in trouble once again for putting human life before military orders. Astrid’s punishment is to work on a rescue ship with Ronnie (Telfer), Rebecca (Holland) and Brad (Zaldivar) as they head to Planet Dune to save a missing freighter craft.
Once on the planet, the crew will find themselves needing to come up against a deadly apex predator. In a group of giant sand worms. With the group needing to work together if they have any chance of surviving.
Thoughts on Planet Dune
Planet Dune is the low budget rip off of the big budget Dune, using the very basic ideas behind that. Giant worms on a random planet, leaving very little to the imagination. In what is just a basic rescue mission that becomes difficult when the enemies start coming for them.
This isn’t the most interesting low budget version, using the name to cash in. While giving us a story that doesn’t manage to capture enough to put us on the edge of our seats. The terrible special effects that suck the life out of the film. This is one of the worst movies you will see. Despite just being a simple to watch sci-fi that could easily have just been a weak standalone movie.
