‘Plan Was to Hit Three Boundaries an Over in the Last Three Overs’ – Dasun Shanaka on Pallekele Miracle

Posted on the 14 June 2022 by Geetikamalik

Nearly two days after he played Inning T20i for a lifetime, Dasun Sanyaka revealed his thoughts into the last three overs of the pursuit. Australia has set 177 for the target, Sri Lanka needs 59 which is very impossible for victory, with the last beating couple recognized in folds.

Shanaka, who has been piled up 6 off 12 at this stage, suddenly entered the Supernova mode. He reached two six and two crawling -18, filled with Josh Hazlewod, then helped loot 18 from the two from behind, and 19 from the last, saw Sri Lanka coming home in a spectacular way.

They lost the series, but have managed an amazing victory in front of what is the euphoric crowd.

It’s fun for me to be able to play inning like that,” said Shanaka. “There is very little inning like that.

My plan is to reach the three limits in the last three overs. That means 54 runs [if all the limits are six] That is a great victory – not only for me, but the whole country. “

The victory was very important for Sri Lanka, who is currently experiencing the most in -depth economic crisis since independence, in 1948. Apart from financial constraints, T20i saw a full house in the two Khettarama (for the first two matches), and Pallekele.

The presence at Odi is also expected to be good, with the first match to be played on Poson Poya Day – Buddhist holidays.

We know that people in Sri Lanka are under a lot of pressure,” said Sanaka. “They did not get the necessities. Even though they supported us a lot. We are really grateful to them for that. We are preparing to give in Odi.”

Although Shanaka won almost a slanted victory in the third match, Sri Lanka’s blow was weak in the previous two matches, in Khettarama. However, Sri Lanka has won the two most recent ODI series, against South Africa and Zimbabwe, where their punch in the format is adequate.

I don’t think we have too many weaknesses,” said Sanaka. “If we take the last two series – against South Africa, and fight Zimbabwe – we play well. Our mental state is good. Batting power will determine the series that I think, because I’m sure our batter will play well through the series.”
