Paul Rudolph's Brutalist masterpiece, the Orange County Government Center in Goshen, New York, has faced an uncertain future after closing in 2011 due to storm damage. To protect the structure from demolition, one proposal by Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman suggests converting the concrete gem, built in 1967, into a dynamic arts hub for the Hudson Valley area.

Gene Kaufman of Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman has previously offered to purchase Rudolph's treasured building to convert it into artist's studios. Now, after Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus called for proposals to reverse its fate, Kaufman is submitting a plan to integrate the structure into larger center for the arts.
